The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has urged Kwara and Kogi State Governments to establish security outfits similar to the Southwest’s **Amotekun Corps** to tackle rising cases of insecurity.
Adams made the call following recent bandit attacks in the Babanla area of Kwara, stressing that regional security initiatives are urgently needed to complement federal forces.
“Amotekun has worked in the Southwest, and Kwara and Kogi can replicate such models to strengthen grassroots security and protect communities,” he said.
He also appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, and state authorities to join hands in setting up localized security frameworks that will prevent infiltration by criminals.
The call comes amid growing public concerns over kidnapping and banditry across Kwara State.
