The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has issued a strong warning to loan apps and businesses that h@rass or int+midate Nigerians over unpaid debts.
In a bid to safeguard consumers, the commission has urged Nigerians to promptly report any form of h@rassment or int+midation by such lenders. This directive follows rising complaints about aggr+ssive debt recovery tactics, including thre@tening phone calls, text messages, and public sh@ming on social media.
Reaffirming its stance, the FCCPC stressed that “no consumer should live in fe@r” and assured Nigerians that it remains committed to protecting them from unfair and deceptive practices. It also warned loan apps and businesses that continued h@rassment will attract serious sanctions.
The commission further encouraged Nigerians to channel complaints through its official website and social media platforms, assuring that swift action will be taken against offenders.
