Just In: Former Oyo Lawmaker Is Dead

A former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdul-Rasak Ademola Abdullahi, popularly known as Omo Sheu, has passed away.

Hon. Abdullahi, who served in the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan South East State Constituency 1, died on Sunday night after a prolonged battle with a kidney-related illness.

During his time in the Assembly, Omo Sheu was known for his grassroots connection and commitment to the welfare of his constituents, particularly in Ibadan South East. His legislative tenure was marked by advocacy for community development and improved social services.

His death has thrown the political circle in Oyo State, especially Ibadan South East, into mourning, with colleagues, constituents, and party faithful remembering him as a dedicated public servant.

Details of burial arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.

Notorious cultist, Oko-Ilu arraigned in court on nine counts in Osogbo

A wanted cultist in Osun State, Hammed Rasheed, 29, popularly known as Oko-Ilu has been charged to court. Oko-Ilu was brought to court by the Police before the Chief Magistrate Olufemi Ayilara of the Osogbo Magistrate Court on Wednesday. The suspected cultist was charged with nine counts bordering on murder, unlawfully killing two persons, disruption of public peace, cultism and others. He was charged with the death of Hassan Adedeji, one Idowu (A.K.A Delta) and the shooting of one Inspector Gbenga Eke. The charge sheet brought to court by the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun was not read in the court as the Magistrate did not take Oko-Ilu’s plea. The Magistrate, Ayilara remanded him in Ilesa prison and adjourned the case till October 7. A magistrate’s court sitting in Wuse, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has remanded Prof Zainab Duke Abiola in Suleja Prison over the assault of Inspector Teju Moses, a police orderly attached to her. BREAKING: Court Sends EFCC Chairman To Prison

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama has convicted the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa for contempt of court in relation to his agency’s failure to comply with an earlier order of the court.
