Renowned leadership advocate and researcher, Dr. Tari Oba, has successfully defended her Doctorate thesis in Peace and Conflict/Security and Strategic Studies, marking a significant milestone in her academic and leadership journey.
According to Dr. Oba, the achievement represents years of dedication, research, and sacrifice aimed at deepening her understanding of conflict dynamics, leadership, peacebuilding, and nation-building.
Leadership is shaped through years of learning, sacrifice, discipline and an unwavering commitment to a purpose greater than oneself, she said while reflecting on the journey that led to the successful defense of his thesis.
She noted that the pursuit of the doctorate required more than academic commitment, as it involved numerous flights, long road trips, and sea voyages undertaken in the course of research and study.
Dr. Oba expressed gratitude to God for sustaining her throughout the demanding process and appreciated the support of family members and loved ones who stood by her during the journey.
She paid special tribute to her children Diamonod, Gold, and Emmy, whose presence, She said, continues to inspire her strength and determination. She also acknowledged her mother for her unwavering prayers and remembered her late father as her “greatest champion,” noting that the values and foundations he laid continue to bear fruit.
Describing the academic accomplishment not as a crown but as a responsibility, Dr. Oba emphasized her continued commitment to learning, service, and contributing meaningfully to building a society where peace, opportunity, and dignity are accessible to all.
This achievement represents a deeper responsibility to continue learning, to continue serving, and to contribute meaningfully to building a society where peace, opportunity and dignity are not privileges, but realities for all, She stated.
Dr. Oba concluded by noting that the journey toward peacebuilding and leadership development continues.
The journey continues.
