EGBEDA/ONA-ARA 2027: Seye Gbaroye Rejects Alleged Consensus Stakeholders’ Decision, Calls It Illegal

A prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency, Who is also a leading aspirant, Hon. Seye Gbaroye, popularly known as Omo Wa has formally debunked rumors regarding a purported "consensus stakeholder decision" ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released to the press on Thursday, Gbaroye described the news circulating on social media and within local political circles as "faulty, premature, and a misrepresentation of the party's current internal dynamics."

No Official Verdict: Gbaroye emphasized that while consultations are a natural part of the political calendar, no definitive agreement has been reached regarding a consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat.

The "Faulty" Narrative: He noted that the reports claiming a unified front behind a specific individual were designed to "create a false sense of finality" and bypass the democratic processes of the party.

Adherence to Party Supremacy: The chieftain reiterated that the PDP is built on a foundation of equity and that any major decision would be communicated through official party organs, not through "speculative leaks."

Addressing his supporters in Ibadan, Gbaroye stressed that the strength of the PDP lies in its grassroots involvement.

"You cannot have a 'consensus' without the actual consent of the stakeholders involved.

What is being circulated is a narrow view that does not reflect the collective will of the Egbeda/Ona-Ara PDP family. We must prioritize transparency if we intend to remain the party of the people come 2027."

Notorious cultist, Oko-Ilu arraigned in court on nine counts in Osogbo

A wanted cultist in Osun State, Hammed Rasheed, 29, popularly known as Oko-Ilu has been charged to court. Oko-Ilu was brought to court by the Police before the Chief Magistrate Olufemi Ayilara of the Osogbo Magistrate Court on Wednesday. The suspected cultist was charged with nine counts bordering on murder, unlawfully killing two persons, disruption of public peace, cultism and others. A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama has convicted the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa for contempt of court in relation to his agency’s failure to comply with an earlier order of the court.
