Hon. Amb. Chief (Mrs.) Lamidi Rukayat Tolani Balogun, a candidate for the Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed her condolences over the death of Alhaji Abd Wahab Olayiwola Surulagba, who passed away late Wednesday.
Alhaji Surulagba was a prominent community and religious leader in Moniya, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. He was the Aare Musulumi of Moniya, Giwa Adini of Akinyele, and served as the local and state chairman of the Oyo State Butchers Union. He was also identified as the Chairman of Land Sellers in Akinyele Local Government.
In her condolence message, Hon. Rukayat Lamidi Tolani Balogun described the deceased as a respected figure whose contributions to the community, religious affairs and various sectors of local economic life would be remembered.
She expressed sympathy to the deceased's family, the Muslim community, members of the Oyo State Butchers Union, land sellers, traditional and religious leaders, as well as residents of Moniya and Akinyele Local Government.
Hon. Rukayat prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of Alhaji Surulagba, grant him eternal rest and give his family and associates the strength to bear the loss.
She further urged those who knew the deceased to honour his memory by upholding the values of community service, faith and peaceful coexistence for which he was respected.
Hon. Rukayat Lamidi Tolani Balogun, who is seeking to represent the Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, prayed for Allah's comfort and guidance for the bereaved family at this difficult time.
