The Ogun State Police Command says it has observed an unprecedented increase in reports of missing individuals across all age groups. A statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola , says that while only a small fraction of these individuals are located, a significant number regrettably do not return home. Odutola said that as a proactive and community-oriented force, the command is committed to raising public awareness about this concerning trend and encouraging everyone to prioritize their safety by maintaining a heightened sense of security as a way to avoid becoming a victim. The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned Stella Nwadigbo, aged 45, for indecent treatment and assault of a child. Nwadigbo who was arraigned in Magistrate Court 1, Ogba today, January 9, 2025, went viral on Wednesday, January 8 after a video of her indecently treating and assaulting a three-year-old pupil of a primary school where she teaches in Ikorodu area of Lagos State went viral.  Following receipt of the video, the Family Support Unit (FSU) of Ikorodu Police Division promptly arrested the suspect on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 and transferred her to the Gender Unit of the Command Headquarters same day after preliminary investigations. The victim was taken to a medical facility for adequate medical attention.  She was arraigned on charges bordering on indecent treatment and assault of a child. She pleaded not guilty to the charges. Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has tasked governors in the southwest to be vigilant in securing the region. Adams made the call following the alarm raised by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on the influx of bandits from the North-West. According to Gani, the alarm raised by the Oyo governor was real and needed urgent attention. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Kehinde Aderemi, Gani urged the South West governors not to ignore the warning, insisting that insecurity has been a major issue in the country.
