A 14 year old girl (name withheld )that was allegedly impregnated by her 43 year old father, Kayode Oluwaseyifunmi in Ibadan has given birth to a baby girl at the University College Hospital, UCH. The girl was said to have gone into premature labour at the orphanage home that gave her shelter after the case was brought into the open by Radio Nigeria. She was initially rushed to Molete Health Center, Oyo state owned hospitals, Yemetu Adeoyo and Ring Road hospital but was rejected due to some complications associated with her delivery. She was later referred to the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan where she eventually gave birth to a baby girl through a Cesarean section, and the newborn was immediately placed on oxygen as the baby was born premature. The Idah Local Government Council Security Team, Special Hunter Squad, under the leadership of Muhammed Opaluwa (Rosco), has apprehended a notorious suspected criminal, Umoru Faruk Unusah, who vandalizes government properties in Idah. Security tensions in Kwara State reached a boiling point at the weekend as five suspected kidnappers reportedly of Yoruba and Fulani origin were arrested after a fierce gun battle with a combined team of soldiers, local vigilantes, and hunters around Ero Dam in Odo Owa, straddling Oke-Ero and Ekiti Local Government Areas. Niger State Governor Umar Bago has said that preachers in the state must submit their sermons for approval before preaching. A journalist based in Ibadan, Oyo State, Ojo Peter, has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers. The incident happened on August 18, 2025, along the Molete–Oke Ado axis of Ibadan. His death was initially thought to be health-related until his younger brother, Enahoro Peter, confirmed that he was attacked because of the cross bag he carried. Enahoro said eyewitnesses revealed that despite Ojo shouting that the bag contained no money, the robbers still shot him in the back before dispossessing him.
